08 Mexico Dove Trip |
John and Debra went on the annual dove hunting trip to Obregon, Mexico in Feb. Nineteen people went on the trip – fully guided by Frank Ruiz and his staff at Gambinos. The shooting was outstanding as usual and Frank’s staff are so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend it if you love to shoot. The climate is perfect there in Jan. & Feb. Kind of like April in California. Cool mornings and warm afternoons.

Debra Awarded Assembly District “Woman of The Year” |
Each year, California State Assembly Members select one woman from their district whose community involvement is deserving of special recognition. The ceremony to honor each Assembly district’s Woman of the Year was held on March 10 in the State Assembly Chambers. I was awarded this honor by Assemblyman Rick Keene for my work with the Oroville Christian Business Alliance which I founded in 2006. Check out the full story on Assemblyman Keene’s web site at www.assembly.ca.gov/Keene OCBA has bimonthly lunch meetings and last year we put on two big events - the National Day of Prayer Breakfast in May and an Oroville Pastor’s Appreciation Dinner this January. We are preparing now for our 2nd. annual National Day of Prayer Breakfast on May 1 and are hoping for 250 attendees. This award was truly a blessing for me and my family. I am sure there were many deserving women in the 3rd. district. The fact that I was chosen was truly a blessing from God. |

| “Storm” off to Oregon to work on Master Hunter Title |
Our new chocolate stud dog “Storm” will be running a couple of more hunt tests at the Senior level in California and then will be off to Oregon to work on Master level work this summer. “Chance” will be retiring in the fall when Storm comes home. “Storm” is very handsome and has a stocky, classic Labrador build. He has a litter of puppies on the way and we are excited to see his first progeny. |
